Well...I DIDN'T have GAS but made the unfortunate mistake of looking on my wife's Facebook account for something (I don't have a FB account) and stumbled on the marketplace. A local guy has a 2019 burst Gibson LPJr asking $XXX. I talked to him....older guy.....has carpal tunnel and cannot deal with the neck. Says mint in case with candy and paperwork for $XXX. I need this like I need a hole in my head....but I have always wanted one of these...and the 2019 version is the best I've seen to date (aside from the custom shop stuff that I won't pay for). I almost wish this guy was asking $XXXX so that I would stay away. Oh well...here we go again.

Edit: I bought the guitar so I edited out the p.p.

Tobacco sunburst was the name of my bass players Brothers album he recorded in the mid-90s
He owns a real 1957 Les Paul junior and a super Reverb and his tone is to die
He is mainly a rhythm guitar player a really good on Chuck Berry kind of lead guitar I got the play some lead guitar on that album
Sorry for voice activation you know what I mean

Les Paul Juniors are the best guitar ever made, other than the Telecaster. I think you must buy it.

Congratulations. I’ve been pining for a LP Jr. for some time now. Is it P90? Pics please.

I'm going to peek at this guitar after lunch. The deal seems too good to be true as this is not the Tribute version(s). It is going to have to be both near mint and without quality control issues for me to be a buyer.

My favorite quote describing a LP Jr is that playing one is "...like being 14 years old with a singing bikini girl sitting on your lap"

Buy it. Play it like crazy and have a blast.

    IMHO....if it's NOT a P-90, it's NOT a LP Jr.

Had I thought that you guys would talk me out of this....I would rather have asked my wife whether she thought this was a good idea instead.

I bought a 3/4 LP Jr. for $1300 about 5 years ago. Back in the 70s I had a regular size and a 3/4. Amazingly easy to play with the best tone ever.

    Okay, I'll be 'THAT guy':

    Don't buy it.

    Why should YOU be happy?

I have two of these tone sticks, and they make me happy.

Unless of course the 'singing bikini girl' is 14.....as that would give the term "accident" a vastly differing meaning lol. Off to check out this Junior...I'll update when I return....with photos if things work out favorably.

Did you buy it yet? You should.

I just bought a used 2018 which I think is simlar specs besides the pcb wiring and the logo. I'm planning on redoing the wiring in mine once I receive it... which I am really looking forward to.

That’s a couple of cool guitars dude. Ironically, I’m planning both a DC and SG builds after I get through the other four projects I got going atm. Lol

The plans are done (apart from pup configurations), templates cut and wood selected. Just a matter of time before I get around to them. Can’t wait!

Bought it! Here are a couple of quick photos. Came with case, candy, papers, Gibson strap, and the guitar looks as close to new as could be expected from a used guitar. The guy was a smoker...so I need to air out the case a bit...guitar was just built 6 mos ago so it isn't too bad. Just like new and shiny and a great great deal. I wiped his sweat off the bass side lower bout and it is shiny. I really like the short scale and almost acoustic like (vs electric slinky) way that it feels/plays. I'll have to run it through it's paces as time allows....just checked the controls/pups briefly and it 'BARKED' at me to let me know that all is working. Pleased with this purchase for now as it gives me an affordable opportunity to audition a guitar that I have long desired.
