Archtop jazz box. Then when you weren't looking, trade the LP for a Strat. Or borrow one for a really long time.

A PRS SE Soapbar II. It can do anything. I thought it was so nice, I bought it twice. (Its price has gone up a fair amount over the last few years though)

For me the big two are a tele and something full hollow. After that, it's a collection not a "need", and I'd go for just about anything cool. I did just buy an LP-kinda sorta guitar that I look forward to gigging in a few weeks.

I came at it from the other end. A Gibson LP Junior, Gibson LP Standard then a Fender Professional Tele. I'd like to get an ES or a Casino next.
