Anyone have any views on this amp. Looking for a saturated, distorted tone for slide. Are the older ones beter sounding than the 60's models?
    Thanks!

GA20s and GA20Ts are very thick sounding nasty tweedish amps. The later (mid '60s) GA20 RVT is nothing like these. If it is the tweedish sounding GA20 or GA20T that you are seeking, you should also consider the GA6, same output tubes (6V6) and speaker (P12R), similar nasty, honking tweedish sound. And when I say nasty, I mean it in a very good light!

My friend has a mid 50's GA20. This amp sounds killer. Big fat tone, especially with my Barden-equipped Tele.

The earlier GA-20's would be killer for your purposes.

The only problem w/ the early ones may be that they use octal preamp tubes (6C7?).
