Wish I had one. Back in the late 70's a buddy had a black '76-'77 and once we stayed awake all night jamming and I couldn't put it down. That guitar was bad a$$. Ever since that I've wanted one but never got one. Not sure why. Lots of guitars have come and gone but.........:)

How's the neck on the '19? I remember playing a friend's Explorer when they first reissued them in the early '80s. I love the big honkin' log of a neck it had.

I would play "I Will Follow" and "Electric Co." on that.

I love explorers! I had one from the 80's that looked exactly like yours. I wish I never sold it.:(

Nice!! I love the body shape of the Explorer along with the headstock, it's a beautiful design.

it's pretty thin and on the wide side. It's different than other Gibson necks i've played in a good way - i find it very comfortable.

same here...this guitar was priced in a 'realistic' range for me and i was able to make it happen. They have some more attractive prices on some of the new guitars if you like the way they are equipped.

One of the best guitars of the 150-or-so I’ve owned over the last 50 years ... down to five, and this is one of them ...

My wife has forbidden me from having one in the house.

    I’ll miss her.

Love it! I also had one similar, except with gold hardware/pickups in the early 80's. I very much regret selling it. :(
