Surf? Instrumental rock? In Finland we call this rautalanka! The Shadows, maybe more The Ventures style.

    Great playing!

This is my favorite style/era of music. I wish we had a name for it here in the US (or that I knew what the name was.) Its not surf music, but it gets lumped in with surf music. Having a term for it would make it a lot easier to find some forgotten gems.

Thank you :) You're right, sometimes it's really difficult to find music for which there is no specific genre.

Great playing and nice take on that tune. Couldn't help but notice the old Singer sewing machine. Both my grandmothers had one back in the days when there was no electricity (before the mid-sixties).

Sounds more Spaghetti Western than surf.

Sounds great. Countryesque and Surf. I really dig it and it made me work on my own version

I think that's the best version I've heard so far, it's spaghetti meets surf, Western Surf?

NICE PLAYIN'.......I first heard that song as a kid, and was kinda "spooked" by it. I've heard some great versions, and yours is definitely one of them! Thanks for sharing, and keep up the good work.

I struggle to call "rautalanka" a rock genre. It could be the very smart dressed and behaved players, or the variety of songs that can get the treatment. Old folk songs, tango, Russian Gypsy music....

The Mustangs' lead player was doing his military service at the same time as me, back then, and mentioned that he was in a rautalanka band. Not sure if he is still playing.

Thanks guys. Indeed, this is more like Spaghetti western, it was the genre I was looking for. Ennio Morricone etc.
But western surf is good description too :)

Here in Alabama, we would say: "That there boy can pick!" :D

Great version, well played. I do hear the spaghetti western influence.
