I got the underwound set. Before this I had a lipstick pickup in the neck and dirty fingers in the bridge and it always just sounded poopy and too twangy. These pick ups really brought a sweet voice out of this guitar. +1

Glad you got what you wanted out of them. My first GFS order is currently en route with some pickups!

Nice Reactor. I have a white one with Cavalier Lion King (n) and a Bakersfield (b) that is my #1.

Put some of those in a offset party caster I made just for something different. I love them. 6D48115F-44B7-4DAA-8F44-E638881C9763.jpeg

Is “party caster” a typo, or just the best new way to refer to a cool guitar? (And it’s very cool, by the way. I love the gold foil pickup look.)

How do they sound? are they microphonic like the originals?
    Can you holler into them?
    inquiring minds...

I'm really interested to hear your impression too. I'm looking for a new bridge pickup on my parts caster. I like the look of those a lot.

Thx for catching my typo. Think I’ll start calling it my “party caster”!!

I'll have to pull it out and check, lol. I don't think they are though.

Best I can describe it is they took the ice pick off the guitar, and made it much sweeter sounding. Smooth, little bit jangly - neck p'up is very usable now. The low output is noticeable when I switch from my strat to this guitar though, so when I play it I have to redial my amp some - which isn't a big deal.

Thanks. The pickup I have in it now is the opposite of icepick. It is the 15k ohm pickup that came in the first run of the American Special Telecaster. It is just too mid focused and woofy for me. I have a Nocaster in my other tele, and while it sounds good, its a little brighter than what I'm looking for in this guitar. Sounds like the gold foil would be just right.

Does the bridge pickup have a metal baseplate?

Yeah it does. I just played it a solid 45, really pleased w/ the sounds - but again, warning: the low output pickups while very sweet sounding, will require your zeroing in your amp to compensate.
