I saw him live in the 80’s…my girlfriend at that time was enamored with him….wasn’t exactly my thing but I certainly could appreciate his talent.

Sad news. Although Winston's style of music isn't normally my thing, I grew up listening to his seasons albums that my parents loved and have fond memories of his records. I was fortunate to see him perform live in the mid/late 80s. At one point he pulled out an acoustic guitar, apologized for his mediocre skills, and then proceeded to absolutely slay a couple of slack key guitar jams. I was totally blown away.

Windham Hill. Another time, another place. I saw him in concert and he played barefoot. December is one of my favorite albums.
In these times I doubt whether the Windham Hill catalog would ever make it.

I met a guy in Hawaii that worked as studio engineer along side him.

They did some pioneering work with digital technology in the early days.

Huge legacy left by George and his catalog will be explored by many in the future.

I mostly know (and love) his work with the slack-key giants.

He’s a legend.
