One of my favourite albums.
Love this one. I play it, but sure dont sound like George!
George, hiding behind Eric.
I had a Japanese reissue (recreation more like) from around 2013 and it was a great guitar bit not a speck of rosewood on the whole thing. Basswood body with rosewood veneer on the top and bottom. The sides were painted black. Even the fretboard was veneer. And the neck was black painted maple. Like I said, great guitar, but I sold it before I put a dent in its veneer. Haha
Great musician - one of my favorite Beatles tunes.
it's all too much and only a northern song are my favorite george tunes.
That concert for Bangladesh was/is awesome. I think GH kinda invented happenings to good will.
+1. I can't count the times in my life i have old people that. I was a beatle freak from day one and bought their 1st U.S. release the day it came out. Interestingly at a grocery store ! They actually had records at major grocery chains back then. Anyways, the thing about George was every album the beatles released would have ONE song George wrote and every time those turned out to be my fav song on each album, or at the very least tied with another. Then when they broke up his solo album all things must pass came out before any others and it was one of my all time fav albums. For me it beat everything paul and john came out with afterwards. Amazing album. he was never given anywhere near the credit he deserved as a songwriter.
Thanks for this. You are correct. Watching You Tube videos of him reveals a man without guile or pretense. I recently watched a doc about the Willbury’s revealing an assertive side as well.
Lately I’ve been finding joy in learning and playing his solo compositions. Very gratifying for me.
I’m still very impressed that he had a double album trove of saved up songs to release after the band broke up. That’s work and dedication.
A great first thought the morning after Thanksgiving.
Agree. Far and away the best solo artist of the group.
I’ve been trying to duplicate that lead for 25 years. I’ve got the chords down cold. Thanks.
I’ve read harsh criticism of their done such covers. I don’t agree with them
Where is Rocky
Released 50 years ago today...
And if you are looking for Beatles tones to go along with a Tele, Gretsch or Rik, these two pedals will get you there (for a price)...
Well, the 2020 CS Rocky was kinda steep for me. So I’ll have to manage with SGM AV59. Maybe I’ll give it a paint job some day...
The guitar named Rocky
Wasnt it sold for 20 000 USD or something like that ?
Yes here you see Delany Bramlet playing the super tele George gave him. While George uses his Rocky Stratocaster.
Yep. I can go as far as 4000€/guitar, but that one was just impossible. So I’ll have to cope with poor man’s equipment.
Very nice duel.
I think they did a smart show that first Ed Sullivan Show. Very calculated but I may be completely wrong.
Starting with : All my loving ( for the girls)
Till there was you ( for the older generation)
She loves you ( the next single they were going to release in US).
I saw her standing there ( a rocker)
I wanna hold your hand ( their no1 single )
