If I woke up and found that I'd spontaneously painted one of my Strats like that, I'd slap myself silly....

Absolutely crazy. Especially since George Harrison's actual guitar was hand painted by him. These are a slick copy of the original. And the original really was not unique or interesting in much of any way, other than being a Stratocaster in London at the time. This is empty packaging.

Especially since it was over Sonic Blue. One of the most desirable colors on a vintage Strat.

What is there not to get? Like @Jakedog said, people will buy them. That’s why Fender does it.

I see a lot of kids who weren't alive even in the 80s wearing Beatles attire. They will always have fans.

Hell, if they sell 10 of them, they've made a ton of money.

I guess I come a school of thought that if you can find an instrument that truly works for you thats the one, its the whole fascaud ( spelling) I dont get if you play a hendrix copy stat do you play like hendrix, you are correct if they make them some nut case will spend the extra coins to cosplay their heros

I'll get out of my superman suit now the underwear are too tight.

I wish Fender would do another run of (non custom shop) Crash Clapton Strats. I like the first one a lot. Only other guitar geeks would know what it is.

Thought the same thing for a few seconds!

I actually don't mind the goofy "acid" paint jobs. But I would just paint my own or have an artist do it before I paid that much. No I wouldn't. I really could care less about the finish on a guitar.

They will definitely always have fans. And they will always be one of the most influential bands in history. I just think as time goes by, the fans will be less rabid and obsessed to the point where they’ll be willing to spend this kind of money for a high end re-pop collectible. I think only a certain demographic has ever gone for that sort of thing in significant numbers, and a great many of them aren’t long for this world.

    Because of the music and...

...the ongoing and never-ceasing marketing machine that is The Beatles Inc.

There's enough people offering Rocky makeovers online as it is, and a '62 RI w/'61 pickups and a non-Fender makeover...well, let's say it costs less. Many White Albums less.
