Well last year there were a few set backs w/ some of the materials being used. But over the last year I have been working on making sure that those same issues wont happen again.

Best of luck to everyone! There are some extremely good builders participating this year! Hope this year brings more creative talent than any year before!

This year i have plans to mix those groovy vintage chinese copy vibes from the late 60's with a tele deluxe. w/ a birdseye maple snake head neck w/ a q-sawn black walnut fret board.

I just put the finished touches on the snakehead neck template. i had to redo the headstock cause the maple ill be using wasnt quite wide enough. and itll only be a 20 fret neck.

and to top it all off when i get some time tonight. i gotta clean my shop cause its way to cluttered w/ mustang parts to do much of anything right now...

This build sounds cool
Improvise and conquer
My build will also be shaped by my wood and my mistakes. My garage is also cluttered with mustang parts. Might have to change the cars name to "old shelf" because of the way stuff seems to pile up.

Good Luck and Happy building

in regards to the cleaning of the work shops. well if i had any clean work bench space at all. i would probably be ok, but i like to start projects at a clean start and then just dirty everything up from that point on. lol Im going to post pics of the clutter. The before and after pics will be astonishing. lol

Im hoping that I can do my design justice this year. Im really hoping not to have another year like last year. The materials were not cooperating at all the last time around. The materials now have been seasoning for almost a year now so it all should be stabilized well enough...

Thanks everyone for the kind words of interest and encouragement! I look forward to being apart of this great group of builders!

a little progress in anticipation for the coming months. i went and cleaned off the top of my work bench. Now only the middle layer is left to unclutter! I have alot of junk that just needs to be tossed and the problem would be remedied.

heres my proof of start photo w/ my raw neck and body materials. some nice yellow pine for the core, a bookmatched maple top, some poplar for the back of the body. neck will be birdseye maple, and havent decided on a fb yet. it will either be walnut, more birdseye, cherry, or checkered sycamore.

now this in home depot maple. i think i did pretty good on the find here!
