Really, Scotty Anderson is the only guy who has his own thing (the insane 'twin guitar' thing he does) that makes him stand out from the crowd. Scotty is the guy that could go toe to toe with Danny or Roy and not flinch.

Don't forget to add Brad Paisley to the list.

Redd Volkaert, Jim Campilongo, John Jorgenson, Brad Paisley,
Scotty Anderson and Brent Mason are all contenders, IMO.
Scotty Anderson is the most Gatton-like, but least known by the
    "civilian" public.
Redd sings better than any of em', and swings harder.
Campilongo gets the Jeff Beck/Roy Buchanan award for most "nuts"/crazy/fun playing.
Jorgenson wins in the taste department.
Brad Paisley is the "new" quadruple threat.
Brent Mason is the king of signature licks.
Both Gatton and Buchanon were great "stunt" guitar players.
Truly singular players who will never be duplicated.

Scotty's 'twin guitar' technique is incredible. Like Jimmy Bryant's "Stratosphere Boogie" in real time. Except Scotty does it on an ordinary Tele, not a 12 string tuned in thirds.

All these Guys are so Amazing! But for my eyes & ears, Guthrie Trapp is "THE MAN" and again for the record, I love all of the players mentioned above! Guthrie is Scary Good though, Scary Good and as versatile of a Guitarist that exists IMO.

Your Welcome, I discovered most of these guys through TDPRI as well! Any of the stuff from "enashbeerfest" on Youtube is my Favorite Guthrie Vids... We all know he's one of the Best Country Pickers in the World. But, here's a few of showing off his Non Country stuff...Enjoy!

This first one is as Tasteful, Sweet and Smooth as a Telecaster can possibly Sound, Guthrie Solo starts off @ 4:45 of the vid...
