Is there a way I can share a project I’ve created in GarageBand with another GarageBand user so that we can collaborate? I know I can email them a finished track, but I can’t seem to find a way to share a version that they can open and add to.

yep. find your track in Macintosh HD--> user--> Music--> Garageband

In that directory, find your 'song' hold down your option key, click on the file and drag it to your desktop.

It will copy it there. Then, click once on the file, the go to file 'compress' and send the compressed file to your friend.

They can open the compressed file. If it is super big, create a shared drive on Google Drive and share it with your friend there...

I’ve never tried, but it looks like you have to share the tracks on iCloud. Not sure why email wouldn’t work, but every example I can find was sharing on iCloud.

I’ve never tried this as I tend to use Garage Band only for personal practice when I don’t have access to an amp or need a silent practice.

On iOS go to My Songs and press and hold the song you want to share and select song or project. You can send the project to email, SMS, Dropbox or lots of other file share if you have them installed this way. Collaborating on the exact same project I’ve not done but might be possible through iCloud...

As suggested above, you’d need to use third party sharing. I’ve done it over Dropbox
