On my way to pick up strings and spotted a gigbag at yard sale. I went up and looked around and then made my way to it. It had an Ibanez Strat RG series with the reverse headstock. I asked the lady hi much. She went inside and came back out and 25.00. I grabbed it. Did a good cleaning took the off and sprayed it nitro. And a good setup. Wow. This is killer. I e never seen a reverse headstock ibby. If you se one grab it. They sound and play killer. It has the fatter wizard neck. I think it’s a 2 series. So it feels good.

Nice! Great score. I had an RG series Ibanez back in the heyday of Floyds. Great guitars.

Some day, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, some good for nothing kid who left all his crap at mom’s house is going to meet a girl who says she’s “into musicians.” He’ll remember the guitar he used to have, go back to mom’s place, and...

    You win!

    Killer score Strato50.

Guitar Center has one online for $169.

You saved $144 on that guitar.

    Great deal.

That thing looks badass! What a good find!

I had a ESP/LTD with the reverse headstock. Man, tuning is such a PITA. I actually sold the neck because it was such a huge pet peeve of mine.

I had a buddy in college who had an RG550 and it was really great to play. The fluorescent orange finish was hard to miss.

I am babysitting my cousin’s EX3700 now, which is at least reminiscent of an RG. I get it out and play it from time to time. It’s more entry-level, I think, but the neck feels pretty good and the H/S/H with 5-way switching seems versatile.

Anyway, $25? Play the hell out of it!

Great score! I never knew there was a chunky neck version; have always avoided these because of the shallow neck profile.

It’s not really chunky. But it’s got more meat than the standard wizards I’ve played. Feels a lot like a 60s Gibson in some ways. Like a slim taper.

What did you find hard about it? I don’t see it as any different from tuning the bottom side of any 3+3 headstock...

My ESP is a reverse. But the neck is also set-thru, so no way to remove it. I’ve had a lot of reverse headstock guitars. They’ve never bothered me...
