Heck! Why don’t we just read some archaic texts that declare the world flat? Why don’t we have the librarians change any books to reflect that the world is actually round after all? Reason: Things change my friend. History is not meant to be relied on, as much as it is meant to be built upon. History books don’t make it so. They only provide a perspective of the writer. Example: People who declare themselves students of history, specifically World War I. These so called experts were not alive to witness the event. They build an understanding based on literature and word of mouth from other “scholars”. That doesn’t make their view absolute nor empirical. History is written according to the perspective of the author. Do you think German history books reflect the same version of World War II as found in United States history books? Believe what you want. It’s your spiritual journey.
