Heck! Why don’t we just read some archaic texts that declare the world flat? Why don’t we have the librarians change any books to reflect that the world is actually round after all?

Reason: Things change my friend. History is not meant to be relied on, as much as it is meant to be built upon.

History books don’t make it so. They only provide a perspective of the writer.

Example: People who declare themselves students of history, specifically World War I. These so called experts were not alive to witness the event. They build an understanding based on literature and word of mouth from other “scholars”. That doesn’t make their view absolute nor empirical.

History is written according to the perspective of the author. Do you think German history books reflect the same version of World War II as found in United States history books?

Believe what you want. It’s your spiritual journey.

if he's management he's management. this isn't complicated. and we don't differentiate between documented and undocumented workers.e

wikipedia is wrong about a lot of things. socialism is workers control of the means of production.

you don't need a government for socialism.

I think we're on the same page. I was illustrating why I disagree with that perspective by taking it to an extreme. But personally, if I get to go back into the olden days to choose my world formation I think I'm going with it being constructed on the back of a giant turtle.

Yeah, the idea that this is a populist uprising seems a little bit overblown. According to Reuters, the "someone" who went in on 50K, aka the "posterboy and/or defact leader" is a finance business professional who claims to have made 330 million on GME since sometime in 2019. If you look at GME's trading history, there seem to have been a series of slight increases in trading, each of which created interest in the shares and an increase in price, beginning in summer or fall of 2019.

The group also seems to be inspired by Elon Musk's hate for short sales.

In the last year or less, 4 big investors have bought into GME, including Chewy.com founder Ryan Cohen who's up something over 1700% according to Business Insider. Cohen, who certainly knows how to make money online, has joined GME's Board, which is the only justification for any increase in value of these shares. And it doesn't come close to justifying an increase from 31 to 300 something.

I think what you just described...is, yeah, the market. Whether "organic" or not everyone is going to jump in when they're convinced the opportunity $$ is there.

The response, IMO, is the bigger story here!

I knew the military would come up {bait}..the mission statement, and the threat may have changed. It may not be forces armed with spears at the border. The threat to security might be less served by conventional "military". Cyber, financial, market - lots of ways to wage combat these days without tanks and missiles.

And next, lets add the ole' stable currency and commerce - we're "global" now, so foriegn interests own local companies, even with the infrastructure "providers", sometimes they are the sole provider as we recently have learned, and they also are openly lobbying and influencing in you-know-where.

And finally, look at corporate interests, versus citizen interests. The next big market by two orders of magnitude are the billions who don't own a second vehicle, don't have a second bathroom for a family of 6, and don't have gamestop stock, or netflix access yet. It could be some motivation by some, is to protect that next frontier of profit.

This is an entertainment forum, not a well funded think-tank making policy recommendations, lol, so don't take it more serious than it is, please.

Actually, I believed it’s a case of mistaken identity.

You obviously confused me with someone who gives a damn.
