    Well played, Steve 78 - that’s from Gibson’s Neuromancer.

Here’s one:”Over Descartian vortices you hover. And perhaps, at mid-day, in the fairest weather, with one half-throttled shriek you drop through that transparent air into the summer sea, no more to rise for ever. Heed it well, ye Pantheists!”

Herman Melville — Moby-Dick. (The greatest novel of all time, IMHO. I could fill this thread with Moby-Dick quotations!)

“ If a bird can speak
    Who once was a dinosaur
    And a dog can dream
    Should it be implausible
That a man could supervise... ”

'You know what I like about you? - you're so tall.'

(Clue: Gene Hackman to his would-be killer. The last words that woman will ever hear).

We’re going to need a rule where the question setter can give the answer and set an alternative... it’s not @RoyBGood’s fault but unless another Gene Hackman fan comes by we might wait a long time here!

Sounds like me commenting on a Destiny's Child track, but it's Keith Richards' 'Hurricane'.

'Sorry for the crudity of the model, but I didn't have time to build it to scale or to paint it'.

Combined standard and cryptic clue: Line from one of the biggest films 'of all time'.

Sorry, yes! - I was just following the 'Hurricane' one. (For anyone interested, my quote was from the fight scene on the roof of a moving train. Gene's would-be killer has her back to a bridge that's just the right height to take her head off).

" . . and then something caught my father's eye . . it was a gold doubloon, minted in Spain. 1867.
My dad picked up the coin, put it in his breast pocket of his jacket, zippered it up . . came home, told us the story
    - and he unzippered the pocket to give me the coin, and it was gone"

The Fog (original) went straight to it without any online help - lost count of how many times I've seen it.

'I shot an arrow in the air... she fell to earth in Berkeley Square.'

(Classic early British black comedy. An actor of 'genuine class' plays multiple roles in it). Oh what a giveaway!

One of my favourite BTF Doc quotes. I love the way he reprises it in pt 3 and Marty finishes the line!

'Everyone who knows about the Brief is dead.'

No clues - an easy one from me for a change. Oh alright then... part of the answer is in the question.

Well, my quote was no more difficult to solve than the ones that came before it - at least it was from a well-known film and I gave several clues, which no-one else has done so far.

I'm sure everyone knows this one, but it's still one of my favourites...
