Well, the time has arrived when the Starks and the Lannisters continue their quest for obtaining the throne and for revenge. What will happen when the White Walkers attack? How fast do dragons grow? Who will get nude next?

"It's a fantasy realm where furs are in fashion, where the idea that "heads will roll" is not just a metaphor, where all the women seem to get naked sooner or later, and where a dwarf is a sex symbol.

Game of Thrones is like Spartacus and the Walking Dead combined. The "Mother of Dragons" is SMOKIN' HOT.

I started reading the first book last week when my flight was delayed at DFW and I was bored out of my mind. There was a bookstore by my gate so I picked it up on a whim. I'm enjoying it, so far. I think I'll skip the show until I get through the books, though.

Be careful, they're addictive. I picked up Game of Thrones while my father was in surgery this past July and I needed a book to kill the time. I am now on book #4 and have no doubt I'll read the next one when I finish it. Problem is, GRR Martin still hasn't finished the last volume in the series and he's been at it for years.

Don't expect any happy endings. I don't know how closely the HBO series follows the novels, but so far _nobody_ lives happy ever after.

Game of Thrones, otherwise known as the Trials and Tribulations of the Stark Family.

I thought it was a fairly uneventful opening episode. Lots of people meeting with people and having serious conversations.

I'm hoping for much more sex and violence in the next episode.

Some folk don't have to watch it if they don't want to.

Me? I love it. Diana Rigg, Mackenzie Crook and that kid out of Love Actually to join, great. They're the only ones I recognise but no doubt the others will become as familiar as the current cast.

PS. Not going to read the books till the tv finishes.

As long as Osha stays in it, that'll do for me.

I'm in!

Not a lot going on in the first show of the season. Just re-introducing characters and setting things up, I guess. The Tywin-Tyrion scene was pretty good, though.

It doesn't need to be censored, the viewers needs to use their judgement. I find honey boubou offensive so I don't watch it, actually I have no clue what it is but the dance moms are certainly child abuse so I don't watch them

Who is Osha?
The last 2 books have no real story directions

People should exercise their right to not watch it, rather than getting their knickers in a twist over a tv programme that makes it clear from pretty much the very beginning exactly what to expect in terms of nudity, profanity, violence, etc.
