Neat little box. Spruce over mahogany, ebony fingerboard and bridge. Schaller tuners.

I haven’t played it in years. I gave it a quick tuneup.

A bit too much neck relief. Getting a wrench on that 7/16” nut is challenging. A hack it to shorten a 7/16” wrench

    Leveled and recrowned the frets

    Strung it up

It is a player! Lots of tunes in that box.

....mmm, herringbone - it's what's for dinner! Nice looking box, I'd love to hear it in person. Don't see too many west of the Mississippi, AFAIK. Could be wrong about that.

    thanks for the photos.

...all due respect, but I don't count Iowa in that way, regardless of what the map says...

When I moved here, I was told to be ready for an Indian attack at a moment's notice...or maybe it was the potato harvest... ;)

One of my good friends that I grew up with took a week every summer to go back to the family farm and help with de-tasseling the corn. Lots and lots of corn.

That is pretty much all done by machine now.

Still lots and lots of corn.

Our tiny 14 acres of tillable land will produce no more corn while we own it. We have put it all into wildflowers/pollinator habitat.
