I have a beautiful American Original '50s Tele and fancied something of decent quality but less expensive as an alternative, so I went for a G&L. My recent experience with a couple of Fender Players wasn't great so I took a chance and ordered the G&L. I never had a Tele with a neck humbucker or a basswood body so I'm looking forward to checking this out. Good price too; £370UK, new.

congratulations, oh how I love a blues boy!
they say Leo was working it out at Fender , refining it at music man, and got it oh so right at G&L.
    Good for you.

That's a really nice price you got it for! I've been curious about them, and wonder if it'd be a real versatile addition to the gear or just another (versatile) tele ;-)

Good stuff. My Tribute (different model) is the most playable guitar I have. The neck and frets are amazing.

The G&L Tribute ASAT line features an ongoing evolution of the Fender Telecaster.

I love the evolution, seen in the neck and body shapes, MFD pickups, saddle-lock bridge AND - the very reasonable price point! :)

I don't love the limited production, the combined body/pickguard colors, and the limited availability of replacement parts. :(

I really love mine (the semi-hollow version). It's easy and fun to play. The middle position is the sweetspot, although the pickups individually are also excellent. A part of my wants to put in the Seth Lover that is apparently stock in the more expensive versions, and another part of me doesn't want to mess with the mojo that's already there. Have fun with it!

And put up pics when it arrives...

Congrats, they’re great guitars. I have one in kind of a turquoise blue metal flake and it plays as good as it looks.

I had a G & L ASAT Special for a while, but I never bonded with the neck profile. Since the guitar did not have the same specs as a Fender, an aftermarket neck was out of the question. I reluctantly sold the guitar as I really wanted to like it and it had some other positive features that I really liked. For the right person, they would be a great guitar.

I had a semi-hollow BB and it was great. Kick myself for ever selling it, but I can always get another one. That Sonic Blue looks fantastic! Enjoy!

    Nice!
    I love my semi-hollow BB.
The humbucker was a little weak. The volume difference between the neck and bridge position was hard to deal with for me.
I put a Duncan '59 in,and the guitar is now one of my favorites.

Ok, so it arrived in good shape overall but a poorly and unevenly cut nut rendered it unplayable. Off it went to get a setup done. There's something like a two week turnaround at the workshop so I won't have the pleasure of its company for a while. Stay tuned!

    Unlucky with the nut AndrewG.
I bought a Blonde (Indo') semi Bluesboy 5 years ago for the same price about 5 years ago via Thomann , apart from changing the pickups to my taste ....
It's a great guitar for the money.

Yes, there's lot of potential in it I feel. The neck is a good profile and the fret job looks good-no sharp ends but a few are a little corroded-probably from a lack of attention over the last few months. Looking forward to getting it back from Manson's.
