    Now the rules?
    1) you can trade your guitar for any guitar in the world, real fictional specific, somebody’s.
    2) it’s for keeps. None of this ‘I’d get a 59 Paul and sell it and buy a house’. Must be a dream guitar if some kind.
    3) no guitar is off limits. Stevie rays number one, Brian Mays red special, trigger, Frankensrat, Danny Gatton 53 Tele ... whatever.

Just which one and why. Or why would you keep yours?

    your turn.

Absolutely. But I can't decide if I want Tony Iommi's "Old Boy" or Neil Young's "Old Black."

If I'm being forced to choose, I guess give me Old Black.

OK - my #1 is a Road Worn 60s w/ an SRV loaded guard + stickers ... yeah I guess I WOULD trade it for Stevie's #1 if given the opportunity ;)

When I put my #1 together, I made it EXACTLY what I wanted.....the neck, the bridge, the pickups, etc.....right down to finish and pickguard. There's no guitar I've ever played that is better, and, without "trying" another first, I'd be afraid of not getting what I want. I'd love to try Brian Mays' Red Special, because I understand it has a massive neck. (1.25" depth) but it has WAY too many switches and p/ups for me. While mine was not expensive by anyone's standards, if this swap is permanent.....I better stick with the "bird in hand".
    Thanks anyway. ;)

Nope. I've had my #1 Electric and Acoustic guitars for over 25 years. I am too attached. No way I would trade one of them.

It would be an absolute betrayal of a best friend to trade.

Same here. I'd trade ALL of my guitars for that one. It's a no brainer.

If I even had a favourite, why then would I have more than one guitar?

But if I'm swapping anything, it'd be my 1977 Ibanez Les Paul for the same 1977 Ibanez Les Paul, but as it was direct from the factory - original bridge/tailpiece, original pickups, original tuners.

I could probably put up with that awful bronze "gold" all back in place, if it meant original pickups.

Trading my #1 would be like trading one of my children. No, wait. There are days I would trade my kids, but never my #1 guitar.

No, I put this guitar together exactly like I wanted, it cured my electric guitar GAS. The other side to that is, if I had a famous guitar, everyone would wonder what it was doing in the hands of such a bad player.

I would trade my #1 - it's about the cheapest I own, and therefore I didn't mind modding the crap out of it and refinishing it as a "learning process". Turned out great and I love it. I could reproduce it with a $99 pawnshop Squier and another $99 in parts. I would trade that for a Master Built Strat made to my exacting specs - because I know what I like - or at least I know what I like for the next 5 minutes ;)

I would trade all of my guitars for Clapton's "The Fool" SG.

I'd trade my Gretsch Electromatic 5120 for a Gretsch 6120.

My brother once had a Brian Setzer 6120. He removed the dice knobs and replaced them with conventional ones.
