Guys, please shove me off the fence!

What would you get and based off what thoughts - Octafuzz or Big Muff Pi (Little Muff, Big Little Muff etc)?

Keeley Fuzz Head...you get what you pay for. Makes the Dunlop mini germanium sound like cheap junk...

I'd go with an EHX Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker, or EHX Germanium 4 Big Muff Pi.

I can highly recommend the MXR Classic 108 Fuzz, but there are probably a few others to mention...

Anyway, the MXR Classic 108 Fuzz is damn cool for the money!

If u can swing it or find one used, get an Earthquaker Devices Hoof Reaper. Made a fuzz fan out of me. Expensive but amazing!

Get a muff from anyone but EHX, unless you get the new Deluxe (which I've heard is not bad)

A lot of builders offer variants and clones of classic Muff circuits but the current EHX offerings, while not objectively bad sounding, are not what you're usually hearing when you listen to famous Muff users.

That EQD Hoof Reaper is 1/2 green Russian Big Muff, 1/2 Tonebender, with an octave up to boot. Can use any combination of the 3.

Its just sick how good a Tonebender sounds with a Telecaster. Why ive stayed away from fuzz for so long just proves my ignorance.

They're so WILDLY different! Which do you prefer, chicken or chocolate...? Really depends what your trying to do. Smashing Pumpkins tribute band? Fine, get yourself a muff...

I figured one would say that. Yes, they are, if not opposite, certainly different. One is Jack White, another is Gary Clark Jr. Both I are freaking awesome and I want them both but was not sure which to pick first.

The question would be similar to "Would you go for Wah or Delay first?" Consider it the same.

I think the Hoof is the greatest "Big Muff" I've ever played. I own an Earthquaker Devices Hoof Reaper. That has the Hoof (based off a Sovtek Big Muff), Reaper (classic 3 knob Tonebender fuzz) AND Octave (Octavia circuit), all individually switchable.

But... The Hoof itself is amazing IMO :)
