Thank goodness the fretboard is ultra rolled.
And the pickups are ultra noiseless.

Cause without those notable improvements I'd think it was all just hype.

I thought I wanted an Elite Strat until I played one.

Different neck and different pickups can't hurt.

Welp, it's a dumb name in my opinion, but the poor thing comes by it honestly I suppose.

Is that the first compound radius Fender neck? I'm not sure I want a 22.65lb guitar...

Nah, the current Elites do and a number of other higher tier models have had them for a bit as I understand it.

Fender has been doing compound radius necks since 2010 - 3rd generation of American Deluxes. You can consider these new American Ultras to be the "5th Generation American Deluxe" (as the American Elites were the "4th Generation American Deluxe").

Yes; shipping weight - guitar, case, case candy and shipping box(s).

It's nice. It's expensive. What will it do that my current Strat doesn't? I mean, noiseless pickups are nice but I like the sound of the notes I play getting picked up and pushed out by the pickups. If they don't make noise...:p And the weight!

Yep. It's a Strat. Got three of them already. Don't need another. Unless they're free. Then put me down for two. I've a couple of friends.

I'm looking to stock up on 2012-2016 MIA Standards. Also, keeping my eyes open for Elite Tele prices (new or used) to drop.

Exactly they could have at least put black binding on the neck like the jazzmaster ultra
    Kind of disappointed

Um - as I posted last night THAT IS THE SHIPPING WEIGHT WHICH INCLUDES THE CASE, BOX, ETC.

    Sorry.

Yes, look at this as the 5th generation of American Deluxes (and the American Elites were the 4th generation). Lots of marketing hype from Fender for an incrementally updated model.

I own a Mystic Black Elite Tele. Now that the newer model is out prices should come down significantly. They are really nice to play.
