Knobs switch tip saddles all easily changed. Remove one of the tuners and see if you have the std tuner holes on the back of the headstock. That will tell you if they were installed as a replacement for the stock std tuners.

I believe the Wildwood runs of 59 and 61 had the custom shop logo on the back of the headstock

it just comes across as odd that they would release a FSR with micro-tilt neck on a regular body..

    IMHO definitely American Vintage body.
The body code stamped in the neck pocket, 18354, is the same as the '52 AVRI. These codes are usually specific to one body version but are also used on FSR and commemorative models.

Just as an FYI, some of the Fender parts sellers had Fender packaged Pat Pend bridge plates with numbers stamped on them a few years ago. I bought two of them from Darren Riley's shop here in the USA. They didn't last long - they were snapped up pretty quickly - but they were available.

That's a shame, was it the price that members weren't jibing with? What about a Squier FSR to bring down the cost per unit? But then you'd probably have fights about color, neck shape and radius, and every other detail on the guitar... :) Still that's neat to know what its about.

Yes, HWTele, it does sport all the same features... it was up on e-bay some time ago, but between steep price, poor description and worse English I did not feel like going beyond admiring it..

I know... that's the post I found myself before asking for help... Mr. Estrauman is the only one that seems to have some info on that model, but has yet to chip in... Besides what's that thread, did you find any other info?

    Thanks again!

Yeah there s mention in a few message boards about your model and the 67. Not too much info it was a FSR limited run that only lasted in 05.

Just out of curiosity what's different on yours vs the spec sheet. Tele parts are so easy to swap anyway, previous owner could have modded it easy enough

The one piece, 21 frets maple neck for sure. The sheet also says this is finished (Body and neck) in thin skin nitro... the seller confirms it, but it could also (?) be the satin finish that was used on HWY1s. Then seller said this comes with Dimarzio PUs, so it may be a partscaster or a guitar that has been heavily modded anyhow.. I did not see the hangtags and paperwork, but was told it didn't come with a certificate of authenticity or anything along those lines...

Once again, thank you for your help.

    Marco

I posted pics of all those details already.

After all the research and the input from other members I'm inclined to believe that FS run was essentially a "glorified HWY1", with tinted neck, vintage string tree and logo (although some other HW1 also sported the spaghetti logo) being the main differences.
Maybe even Thin skin finish but I am sure about that. I never got to see the guitar discussed above - I cancelled the order. And I got even luckier as I scored this very nice HWY1 that supposedly got upgraded to Fralins.
    Life can be good.

Thanks to you all and HWTele especially.

    Marco
