I would probably like banana cakes, but banana bread, i don't know. Sometimes you can buy lard; olives or cheese bread. I like those. But bread and fruits ? I would have to try that though.

Banana bread is really banana cake - my wife makes the worlds best - and when she adds chocolate chips - it's insatiable.

We freeze bananas all the time.... at the school kitchen where I volunteered we were always gifted excess fruits/veg from the locals..
we always had a big bag of peeled frozen bananas in a chest freezer to use when making smoothies.... no need for ice cubes...

they sure gave the blenders a good workout.. they are pretty solid when frozen and don't shatter like ice does...

If you coat them in chocolate before you freeze them AND have done proper Yoga exercises, you can lick one side of the banana while the other soothes your sore toe.

Yes banana on a pop-sickle stick coated in chocolate and frozen is a wonderfully good treat.

Next time the missus makes banana bread, keep four slices aside and surprise her with French toast for breakfast--using the banana bread instead of reg'ler bread.

She will worship you as a God of Culinary Wonders.

I'm just baffled how it can be economical for "just right ripe" bananas at a reasonable price can be at a truck stop in Nebraska 365 days a year.

Oh man... You've gotta try it. My favorite variation of banana bread has chopped walnuts baked in. Heaven when right out of the oven with some butter spread on.

Bananas grow in people's backyards around here... never a shortage of them at the markets...

I don't need to freeze them...just get a few at a time at the shops..

I usually cut some into my breakfast cereals/porridge of a morning...or mash some on toast with various spreads as a base...

    good tucker...:)

Why don't you take a needle and thread and go through the banana stem and tie it to something else in the freezer so it doesn't fall out? OR... or you could buy some steel toe boots for when you plan to open the freezer. OOOOOORRR, you could cut the banana into pieces and put them in a bag. You're welcome...

much easier to peel them before freezing....put them in smaller batches in zip lock bags for later..:)

I used to have a goat who would eat the whole plant if and when he got at them... the bananas he would grab, flick the fruit out and eat the skins... he left the fruit we eat on the ground... weirdo...o_O:D

When they start to go brown you can freeze them and they still make excellent banana bread.
