This frozen banana 'hack' developed from a recent conversation with my daughter Marlene who's been in conflict with several frozen bananas recently.

If you like to keep ripe bananas in the freezer for future use here's a little tip about one of those uses that might come in handy some day!

If you open the freezer door and a frozen solid ripe banana slips out like a toboggan made of solid rock hurtling out of control over an ice cliff and with the full force of gravity lands on one of your toes.... don't panic! You can calm and mitigate most of the soreness and inflammation that will appear surprisingly quickly by simply placing a frozen banana immediately onto the afflicted appendage. In fact there's probably one laying very close to you on the floor....there!..by your foot! That's handy!! You may want to give that frozen banana it's own parade for the comfort it has provided you....but for the frozen banana it's just another day's work. Well done frozen banana!!...well done indeed!!

Did you not read my story? They're kept in the freezer to sooth injured toes. Why else would you freeze them?

Ms. Nutz started laughing and simultaneously wincing in the imaginary pain she felt upon me reading this to her, as we have both experienced this very thing.

First off, marriage similarly has solutions built in to the problems.

Second off, if you can't move your feet fast enough to avoid falling bananas, you need to dance more!
Frozen bananas are like chances for dancing.
    Act now or act later.

    Yet another marriage fix...

Good thing you guys don't freeze watermelons!

I also freeze bananas but cut them in half and keep them in (reusable) Ziploc bags with frozen berries. Perfect smoothie ingredients.

Wait, I just realized something. Our current fridge for the last 8 years or so is the freezer on the bottom. Are you suggesting a whole frozen banana fell from the freezer that is located at the top???? Holy moly, a well placed drop to a toe joint could make for some time in a foot boot! That last sentence could be a nice addition to a blues ditty, feel free to use it folks!

    Read some Jack London.

One story; To Build a Fire, basically details a man freezing (and going) bananas.

Agreed, all joking aside, nothing beats a frozen banana in a morning protein smoothie. Total taste explosion.

Frozen bananas are good for eventually making banana bread.

I peel and freeze leftover bananas that are getting too ripe. I use them in the blender added into protein shakes.

Growing up on the west side of Detroit in the 70’s the local ice cream places had frozen bananas on a stick dipped in either chocolate or vanilla. They were tasty and this thread just reminded me of them!
