So I've had this kit for a year and haven't been playing the Pro Jr. very much, but as weather keeps me indoors, I revisit projects.

It was pretty straightforward, they left out a 1M ohm resistor (and gave me an extra 100K) but other than that, I'm happy with the components.

The kit pretty much replaces all resistors and caps in the signal path, adds a switchcraft chassis mounted input jack instead of the plastic pcb mounted garbage that it came with, essentially doubles the value of the filter section, gives options for the amount of gain (3 different resistors) realized, and cools the bias off significantly

I'm happy with it, the noise floor is WAY down and touch sensitivity is amazing, although tbh, it's always been pretty good with this amp.

Now that the noise is gone, my only complaint about this amp (which has nothing to do with the mod kit) is that it's so freaking loud! By the time I get the crunch where I like it, paint is blistering up on the walls. I think I'm going to go back in and put the higher gain option resistor in and see what happens. I'll report back here. Also, I'm building a Pro Sr. type cab for this chassis so will add a 12" speaker and hopefully get a little more room between the cone and the el84s as anything at or above 12 o'clock on the volume makes every el84 I've ever put in it rattle like crazy. Also gonna try some of those silicon O ring dampers to see if that helps in the mean time.

This amp relies on power tube distortion to deliver the great tones so some type of attenuator will be necessary to reduce the volume. Our member Rob has a great 10% power reduction mod that reduces volume quite a bit and only requires a couple of resistors.
