Fretless neck - same note across half-steps

    If your pickup is strongly magnetic and way too high it can pull a note out of tune.

    Cello and fretless player here.
    It sounds like a fretboard leveling issue to me.

    Also consider that your intonation needs a bit more refinement due to failure to tune intervals.

    Practice, practice, practice - your ear will become much more sensitive to intonation as you will develop more muscle memory as to finger spacing.

    Think of 12 regions not 12 chromatic notes. Your ear has to be the judge because there is a subjective acceptable variance to intonation.


    This is all after you have your instrument properly set up.




    With this mutant getting fingerboard relief just so is all I have to consider.

    Indeed and the player determines the intonation by virtue of finger postion.
