    Hiya.

So, I was out driving around some mountains, being on holiday & stuff. Wanted to listen to Free all of a sudden, but didn't have any on the iPad (listening via bluetooth to UE Megaboom). So, I (eventually) downloaded the delux reissue of Fire & Water.

Which led me to this on YouTube, once I got home.

See, Shredder Guy with the name I don't even remember, less is more.

Edit: Might as well chuck in the title track as well.

    Hi again.

Discovered just now this official live vid of All Right Now.

Great example of allowing space to exist. That's what always gets me with Free, the open, almost sparse yet powerful arrangements. It can be fascinating hearing how everything works as one, but also how each part fits together with the rest.

Filmed in Stockholm, 1970. Which, depending on when their birthdays fall, would place them aged either 17 or 18 at the youngest end, and 20 or 21 at the older end. Yoinks!

I remember hearing "Oh I Wept" (Fire and Water) for the first time and having to listen over and over to get a grip on Paul Rodger's voice. I couldn't believe a guy could sing so well, so soulfully. Not that I didn't notice the other Paul. "Heavy Load" is a great book if you have interest in Free. What a great band.
