I'm combining my remodel saga and NGD.

Code requires a full bath to have a window or a vent. I had a roofer come out and he said $500 "absolute minimum" (just the installation of the vent gooseneck, not the vent fan). The gooseneck was $26.98 . . . my guitar was $492.19. Here's a gratuitous pic of my new Tele and 44-year-old 12-string (the two guitars I am playing a lot right now).

I had the same issue when I was remodeling my bath. Plumber wanted a grand to run the vent pipe (that was the only part I was not familiar with) after I had ran all the other lines. I told him that was too much and he told me that he would wait for my call.
I did some research, cut my own pipe, installed a roof cap and finished it up for less than $100.

I should have went and bought a new guitar...

Beautiful man!!! I have an Alvarez 12 string circa 1971 and it's a tone beast! I don't play it much, but I really should pick her back up ;) I just saved us about 300+ bucks on an HVAC fix I did just yesterday... hmmm.... ;)

I am playing it with my thumb . . . it's so loud with a pick that my wife would send me to my music room. I plan to record with it this weekend.
