That will teach you brits and aussies to mention "bbq" to a yank ever again!

It is a special thing, done proper, and if anyone says their tofu stir fry is just as good, well, you ain't livin.

When there's hotdogs AND burgers, my usual strategy is burger first, then dogs. The burgers always seem to run out faster, but there's always some hotdogs left.

Funny you should say that - literally everyone had burgers and only started having hotdogs once the burgers had run out! I've never seen so many cooked sausages in my life before (in person), stacked up in trays waiting to be chosen like sad little puppies waiting to be adopted.

I had a mixed grill at a local restaurant once (big meal with gammon steak, beef steak, chicken, sausage, fries, tomato, mushroom, egg, bacon, beans etc.) and I was so full but I really wanted sticky toffee pudding with custard so I ate that too...

I spent about an hour sitting in the car taking shallow breaths before I could drive home, I have never been that full ever! #NoRegrets

You gotta admire a guy who believes in the work he's doing to make the world a better place! It's like lifting weights, next time you'll be able to go a little further on your quest to consume! :D

That looks like just the thing to recover from the "meat sweats".

    ----------------------------------

TDPRI, my wife doesn't think meat sweats is a thing. Please commiserate with me!

you got it all wrong ! here we dig up a hole the size of a football stadium, fill it with fire coming straight from hell, and cook a few titanosaurs on it.

Just kidding but i get where the misconception comes from. Here what you described would probably be called a méchoui, and what i call barbecue is what you call grilling.
I don t mind the terminology, i just like putting dead animals on open fires.
