Great classic & inexpensive pedal! I have the NYC reissue.

Sounds great running through my vox pathfinder.

    In my current collection:

    - later 70's ram's head, restored

    - #1: scratchbuild that is 90% V1 ram's head, but with some mid-emphais tweaks

    - #2: scratchbuild that is 95% green Russian

    - Biyang Fuzz Star, soon to be tweaked a bit

The 70's RH wouldn't be complete if Ron Neeley hadn't supplied me with an enclosure, as the original was toast. He was kind enough to provide me with a NYC RI enclosure that is well worn so that my beloved oldie doesn't look new.

The scratchbuild green Russian pcb will be finding its way into my original green Russian enclosure. I've been meaning to do this resto for quite some time.

The Fuzz Star will be a challenge to tweak, since it has SMT resistors. But I will prevail. If it is Muff-derived and doesn't sound epic, it won't stay in my collection!

Black Russian w/ slant top. Picked it up for next to nothing years ago and it's been a great sounding workhorse. My friend is building 3 in 1 Ram's Head/Triangle/Green Russian clones, I fooled around with one enough to know I want one, saving up.

A version I triangle knob from 69-70. It's the one that makes me understand what all the fuss is about. Makes a Strat sound like Pablo Casals playing through a Marshall stack.

A version III from the mid-70s. It's ok. No big deal.

A Little Big Muff Pi from the late 70s. My first pedal. Snarky and snarling. Pretty low-fi.

Anyone here use the Double Muff? I've listened to a few YouTube clips & I think it sounds pretty cool! Almost sounds a muff with some od mixed in.
For 60 bucks it might be worth shot.

I've got one of those. When it needed maintenance, I tweaked just a few values to get it closer to the older ram's heads & triangles, and it's so much better.

The plastic pot shafts on mine were all very warped, so it was really just a nip/tuck thing.

I'm hoping clones and variations count.. I know Ronsound muffs def do! all pretty evident what they are, except for the final "actual" muff, which is the V5 IC/Opamp muff

I have a black 90's Russian, much like the one in Rybass' picture, but with three black chickenhead knobs. It's the second I've owned; the first died after a couple of months and was swapped out by the shop. The LED doesn't work on the second one...

Strange pedal. Can sound utterly nasty. Huge variety of tones for something with three knobs that, at first, seem very crude in their effect.

Some Foxey ladies (some of which aren't muffs, but I' sure you won't mind: one's a Fuzzrite, and another is an Axis -- the remaining two are a triangle muff and a ram's head)
