I really do like when Frank solos, his taste is not always a flavor that I am familiar with, ..... but...
it usually tastes more than ok with me

He had an odd style which worked well with his compositions, though I'm not sure how well it would have worked with "normal" music. His tone here sounds like a stereo two-amp rig with a flanger splitting the signal.

    Love Frank.
His guitar playing evolved. If you’re interested in his guitar God period, start with “HotRats”. He shreds withe best of them. By the time you get to the mid-seventies, he’s finger tapping and exploring the amp/pedal tones differently. But he’s still a monster! Some of the later versions of “Torture” are stunning jams.

Not one of my favorite FZ songs, even with the evil groove and soloing, but hey, at least he livened it up a little with "Chatanooga Choo Choo" (my dad used to sing this). On his final tour in 1988 he did one verse to the tune of the "I Love Lucy" theme song.

I discovered the words also work well to the tune of the Beach Boys' "California Girls". Try it!
