Not really a fan of the band or anything.....never really heard much of their music but what caught my eye was how he used BOTH a Gibson stop tail piece AND a Fender bridge together . Don't think I've seen that mod anywhere before! Interesting.............

That picture is of Rick Parfitt's tele, not Rossi's.

Rossi's is green. Apparently painted with Ronseal.

Let's face it, both their Teles were basket cases, lots of odd bits and finishes, but thats good, and done to the telecaster being such a versatile workhorse.

Rick's tele took the beating of beatings. Whatever set up he finally went with sure held up. I think he played 13s on top of his aggressive technique.

All too true. A great sounding Telecaster. Sounds g
reat on " Rockin' All Over the World" by Status Quo. Sad he passed.

Great stories about their personalized modified teles. Rossi's was a '57 and Parfitt's an early 60's ?? I believe they opened the iconic Live Aid concerts in '85 in London, I think a lot of folks missed their set. We did Picures of Matchsick Men in a garage rock cover band I was in about 10 years ago. But that song wasn't really representative of their Chuck Berry / Dr.Feelgood sound..

Noooo - it's Rick Parfitt who's died, Rossi is still very much alive and gigging!

Um, it’s Rick Parfitt who passed, as far as I’m aware Francis Rossi is still rocking...

Lol! Like I said not really a fan of the band and not familiar with who's who. BUT I like the stripped down working man mods made to his tele. Back in the day these were just tools, not vintage investments. I'd almost like to do this mod to a parts guitar I have.

And the song posted above by Beagle is actually pretty damn good

I like the note at the bottom of the story saying they corrected the text which originally said it was a 1947 tele
