THats exactly how the neck pickup sounds.

Steel pole pickups

I recently bought a 70's parts guitar-maple board with a yellowish color on the body and black pickuguard and pickups-and very lightweight. Anyway, it sounds unbelievable and when I looked at the pickups, they had 2 magnets across the bottom. I just found out they are Fralin steel poled pickups-all three-and they have the smoothest breakup without loosing the Strat sound . Turn the volume down a little and you're back to clean strat tones. The bridge pickup is hard core twang goin into blues land with no mush. I think my set may be the "42"s and not the "43'"s. I got lucky.

Beyond Words!!!

I just picked up a JV with Vintage Hots installed. There really are no words to describe them but Wind Crys Mary sure works. Hendrix, Lowell George (middle PU), Knopfler all on steroids. Great articulation and the bridge pickup is beyond belief. You'll never play a tele with satisfaction again. The JV gives me a tone control on the bridge and rolling off some is a sound to be experienced. And this from someone who didn't believe a pickup change could be so dramatic. Lindy Fralin has got the mojo, no doubt about that.

You WILL be amazed!

I have tried just about every pickup made and the Fralins just sound right in every Strat I ever installed them in.

VH's!!

I've got them in my Roadhouse strat (originally had Texas Specials--but not for long!). These are perfection for me. I highly recommend a master tone (no-load or TBX) pot and Deaf Eddies Fat-O switch--wait untill you hear the neck/bridge and the series combos ! This is now a stealth guitar!!
