Dhani, George's son (playing acoustic guitar on stage for that), was clearly very happy with what Prince was doing.
And, I think that probably matters a lot more than what you think :)

I would rather see lots of other bands.

    This isn't about preferences.

It's about who's the greatest haha

    Prince wins.

    Hands down.

You could tell in the video that George's son was enjoying the ride, but it looked like Tom wasn't as thrilled. When you read about the back-story that led up to that solo, it was a planned upstaging which sort of is a dick move.

    (Still an awesome solo though)

Who is the greatest ultimately IS about preference

    no, it's not.

Prince is not my favorite artist.

He's a better all-around performer than my favorite, though

And yet, no one can give another valid candidate for greatest all-around musical entertainer, in terms of the complete package in songwriting, instrument playing, singing, and performance/showmanship, who even begins to measure up

For suggestions we've had Glen Campbell, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, and Roy Clark

    :p:lol:

    Simmer down!

Myself or any one is under no obligation to admire Prince or any musician. Much less if they find that musician boring.

I find Prince a top notch musician but a second rate musical artist.

Anton says it best... "that's the best deal yer gonna get":

Scorcese's Irishman was as boring as any movie can be, just about.
And Lennon, don't get me going...

Anyway, yeah, no. Prince was the greatest.
    Scientific FACT :)

Not sure i agree (or agreed at the time) with the lists. Heck, not one Baroque, Romantic or Modern Classical performer on the list? None, nowhere? Not even ahead of say Lee “Scratch” Perry? Hardly any Jazz greats. Carlos Santana mired down in 90th, below JayZ and Phil Spector (as a performer). One does wonder at their criteria. But there it is, nonetheless.

There it is....You just don’t like it.

Fair enough, but don’t expect to actually sway many to your position.

But that’s not the point here, any more....

We are all sorry for your loss. Hope you heal soon....

    I'm not,though. I am absolutely sincere.
And if you could scientifically quantify songwriting, multi-instrument proficience and at times mastery, incredible singing and dazzling wow-em stagemanship, and have Big Blue pick the winner, it would be Prince
