I bought this product and have some questions:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KELTUAK

Before I go to the trouble of installing this rig, I went to do some checks. The four way switch works as it should and smoothly. The pots though spin round and round. Is that an attribute of these type of pots? I've never seen a pot that didn't stop low and high. These sort of hit a snag but keep moving. If these aren't flat out bad pots out of the box, I'm not sure I'm going to dig them.

That said, what other kinds of checks can I, or should I do before installation? I'm not finding much info out there on this subject.

Are the set screws on the knobs tight? Are you spinning the pots without the knobs?

Doh! I was just coming back to clean up my dumb@zz noob post. I'll live with the shame now. :)

What other things can I check, or is it overkill? I'd hate to muck around and then have to send them back.

And does anybody have experience with this rig. Probably should have checked first.

There’s really not much that can go wrong with those simple components. Are you installing it yourself?

Ha! Guess I deserved that question. Yes I am, and I'll be fine, I swear. I'm allowed around hot soldering irons and such. Looks pretty straight forward.

The knobs were just loose enough to grab and spin, but not pull off all that easy. The pots are fine.

The four-way switch install went swimmingly, no damage done. I was able to get out of my own way and do a clean mod. I decided to put in a set of new BYO Guitar Twisted Tele pickups while I was at it. The price was right and the reviews here and elsewhere were pretty favorable. After it was all said and done the bridge pickup sounded great, but I was completely blown away by the tone from the neck pickup. Lot's of exploring to do in the coming days.
