Here's a piece I wrote and recorded in my bedroom studio in 1976. I played a 1930s L-5 with a Johnny Smith pickup, and recorded it direct onto 4 tracks of a TEAC tape deck.

I'll bet you haven't heard anything that sounds like this before. I was as surprised as anybody at what a weirdly evocative piece this turned out to be. It was a big enough jolt to my musical thinking that I decided to pursue composing more seriously.

This is a very cool piece! The fact that was cathartic makes it special...thanks for sharing! Cowabunga!

Nice ine Larry, I think it is time to dust of the score and take that puppy back to the studio and do it up right.

    Very enjoyable.

Yes, it has an intriguing quality. For a moment I could imagine Wes Montgomery playing - yet the solo phrasing was somewhat reminiscent of Steve Howe.

That's very engaging! I like the way the guitars dance around each, sometimes close and sometimes far away.
It's a daring way to write (nowadays anyway!) but all the more rewarding for its difference

Thanks! I took myself by surprise with this, so it means a lot to me still.

I miss tape hiss. This feels like 1976 in the best way. Really digging the piece too...very clever composition.
