Found an old 1st issue Univox Super Fuzz (the smaller version with the oval Univox logo- not the model with the big Super Fuzz logo that Pete Townshend used). It works, but has a huge volume loss when the fuzz is engaged. I’ve got the controls dimed, and on either fuzz setting, they both drop in volume. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

I had one of those, and it did the same thing. Great sound, but it disappears in a mix.

Replace the electrolytics and clean the pots.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Here’s a quick pic. This one is definitely relic’d. Can barely make out the oval Univox logo F3B03003-12EE-412A-AE94-8A3E2DCBB949.jpeg

I'd replace the pots and electrolytic capacitors then expect to add a boost pedal if you ever really wanted unity gain back
