I was going to use my bowling name, Balls McGutter, but I didn’t want to raise expectations too high.
I've used the monker 'phaeton' in my online presence since the mid-90s. Up until VW released their ill-fated and obese "VW Phaeton" I could always grab that username. I'm 'phaeton' on Usenet, IRC and several other forums around the web.
I came here a couple years ago and it was already taken, but the TDPRI phaeton is nowhere to be seen. So I took choice #2: cometazzi
I have another moniker that I've used from my early days of the Internet but it's a tad inappropriate, so I haven't used it here. Strangely, some Russian guy saw it and started signing up to various things with it.

I was looking at the Headstock of my Tele when I chose mine.
Except for TDPRI, I don’t do any other social media. When I originally joined, I didn’t think I’d be here much so I was kind of flippant when signing up.
As a joke, around that time my stepdaughter had shared the cartoon that became my avatar. My name kind of ties to the image, both of which are ridiculous. According to Mrs. Sparkle, they typify my “Tendency to be simultaneously entertaining and awful. But mostly awful” she says.
So I’m stuck with an unfortunate name linked to an equally unfortunate avatar. But ain’t this a great place?!
