Made my yearly pilgrimage to the Amigo Guitar show in Ft Worth. Don’t know why I torture myself...well yeah I do know why actually...I like being around cool guitars...but suffice to say prices haven’t slipped back down to reasonable levels for the average joe guitarist (and they never will). That said, it’s still cool seeing some of this stuff. Here’s some pics if anybody would like to have a virtual tour via my outdated iPhone...

Thank you so much for the pics!
That’s great to be able to enjoy this virtual visit, because unfortunately in France there are no such vintage guitar shows (it’s not like I could afford to buy a vintage Esquire anyway !).

In the photo a few above, the man in the framed picture playing guitar was my friend Gary Brunner, a really great guy and one of the best guitar players I've ever heard. Gary was a fixture at these shows forever, playing for people, talking to folks, just being Gary. He passed away about 4 years ago, but the gentleman he always shared a booth with still brings his picture to all the shows he attends.

Lastly...this one just struck me as funny....not sure why this one poor guitar was banned from the reindeer games.

There were a few duplicate pics... Between the new tapatalk thing and my natural ability to screw up all things internet, I guess I fubar'd...sorry 'bout that...carry on.

Enjoyed the pics very much, thanks for posting. Wish Phoenix or Scottsdale would have shows such as this.

Uh....did you ever actually LOOK at guitars, Danny? It looks like you spent all your time takin' pics! ;)
I haven't been to a guitar show in years. Ft Worth was always more fun than Arlington or Dallas. It was always smaller and more "manageable". I bought my #1 Telecaster at the Ft Worth show almost twenty years ago.....1993 Korean Fender Squier, for $100. Yeah....prices are no longer reasonable or realistic. I've met some GREAT vendors and folks at shows, guys who LOVED guitars and sharing that love.....but too many more were parasites and vultures, flitting from show to show looking for "marks" to take advantage of. Sorry to sound so harsh, but sometimes the truth hurts. Hope you had a good time, and if you missed anything, go back next year. It'll probably be the same stock again then, too.

I call those “dealer swap” or “inventory exchange” events.:lol::lol:

Most of those guys are hauling out the same number of items they walked in there with.

    Good pics though.

    Thanks! Nice stuff, really.

The brownface Deluxe. Yeah. I really like the idea of that amp.

But, too many zeros before the decimal. Guess I should have thought about it, what, 30 years ago?
