I actually have a little money left, about $35. I was thinking it would be cool to have an amp I can take with me and play sitting in my jeep, which I've always done a lot with my acoustic(s). Or when I go back up in the mountains.

So any suggestions for a cool little amp to do that? Once again, I see many many options.

I see everything from 1 watt to 5 to 10 watts.

    Danelectro Honeytone isn’t horrible.
I’ve had one around for years.

Monoprice! For sub $40 you won't find better brand new.

Most useful would be a digital unit with a headphone and line out, IMO. Those tend to be a hundred plus though.

If you find a decent sounding one let me know. All the ones I've ever tried or heard sounded like crap. Played with a friend last year who brought one to an acoustic jam; sounded like an annoying can of bees the whole time. Had to remind myself continually that it was my friend playing his guitar in the corner.

The Blackstar Fly 3 is a great sounding little amp. The additional speaker makes it a very good music player too. Batteries last for days of use. Not much use in a band situation, but up close and personal?, great.
Buy the solo unit, add the second speaker later.

Yeah I got the Vox Amplug for Christmas, which gets really good reviews. I hated it. Sold it quickly.

The BlackStar Fly 3 is a little out of my price point right now. I basically got $35 to spend on one. I just want this for playing in my jeep or back in the woods. I understand this is most likely not going to be a great sounding amp but I just want something that will amply the guitar, and not be straight trash.

So if it does sound like a tin can of beans...I want it to be a can of Van Camps and not Great Value. Both are cheap but one is still a bit better quality...Oh yeah, mini amps. Has anybody tried any of the Fender ones?

I still use my original Smokey amp from the late '90's and even have a brand new one as a backup ( 20 years I bet)
    Great hotel room amp!

I have the one that fits into the jack at a right angle. I would NOT recommend it. Plug is loose after a month of use. Monoprice isn't coming through on the warranty.

Fender's mini Twin (blackface) is OK. The mini tweed, not so much.

I have a Vox "Blues" (tweed) Amplug 2 and the mini speaker cabinet for it, and I think they sound fine for the sort of thing you're describing. The pair is out of your price range, though. If you can find a used Roland Microcube for $35 (rare but not impossible), that'd be the ticket. Fender Frontman 15g amps show up all the time for ~$20. I've never tried one, but I have a Frontman 25g that isn't half bad.

For that matter, does your Jeep have a stereo in it? Maybe you could rig it up with a guitar input and play through the Jeep's sound system, like those First Act VW guitars. You might need something like an Amplug to boost the signal to line level before hitting the stereo.

Ahhh. I'll probably just end up getting a used BlackStar and spending a little more. Been watching reviews and that thing does sound pretty awesome to be such a small portable amp.

But other suggestions/reviews still welcome because I can make impulse buys and change in a second's time.

This is a headphone amp, not sure if that is what you meant.

I have this. I'm looking at it in the bowl where I keep my picks and it's gathering dust. Used it twice, less than a year old.

It's ok. I was under the impression that I was going to get amazing tone from it, but it's going to sound on the thin side no matter what. But, it certainly does what it is advertised for, no doubt about it. I'm actually a little surprised at myself for not liking it more.

PM me if you want to buy it.

For a headphone amp--the Pocket Pod.

For a small combo--the Roland Microcube.

    Buy used and save $$.

Torn between a Blackstar Fly 3 and a PigNose Legendary Amp....because well you know. Also I seen a video and a dude was getting some very good clean tones on a Pignose, as well as the predictable dirty. Just when I was about to get a Blackstar, for some reason I am lured by the nose of a pig.

I had a Blackstar Fly with the extension speaker. I donated it. It was pretty low cost so I can’t say it wasn’t worth what I paid but I wouldn’t buy another. YMMV
