Pretty smart. Good idea, that would be successful.

Every now and then I see a V6 2-door 4X4 Ranger - the one with the tiny back seat/storage area. I think they were made in the 90s or early 2000s.

I wish they would bring those back.

Yes. I'd love an all electric version of the concept if it had same "frunk" the electric F-150 has. Long ago I went from a F-350 snow plow and shop rescue pickup to a little 4 cyl Nissan Hard Body and liked a frugal little utility vehicle. Now I rent pickups or trailers when needed and have a wagon. This concept with "frunk" could be both.

They are not talking about the old 70s American car, they are talking about a 90s, early 2000s version of the Escape that was called the Maverick in Europe. That is what they are bringing back and redesigning it to match Ford's current truck line...

I don't understand why they would call it a Maverick. Honestly, I wouldn't buy it for that fact alone.

EDIT: after rstaaf's comment, I now understand, but still wouldn't buy it.

I learned how to drive 1975 on my dad's work car, 1971 2-door blue Maverick ( standard/ column shift)
Remember the early ad, only '$1995!'

I used to pretend it was a Camaro
( kind of similar grille, body shape, rear lights)

Mine was blue too. Light blue.

The 2 doors really weren't a bad looking car.

Probably - the new Rangers are about the size of old F150s.

I like it. If I was in the market for a new vehicle, this would be up near the top of my list to check out.

Eh, much less an insult than calling the EV a Mustang.

Even when I squint my eyes really tight, I can't envision a Maverick looking like a Camero.

And I thought I had a vivid imagination. Dreamer's gonna dream... hah.

It's a hybrid Ford Escape/Edge with a bed, a la the Subaru Baja.

They'll sell a million of them.

I had a 74 Maverick :). I also had a 2001 Mazda Tribute that rusted way too soon. A 2007 Mariner. Same thing. They had me until someone pointed out it is part of the Escape family. I'm out.
