If you don't dig this, then you're dead to me! Some smoking guitar solos from not only Joe but also from Brad Whitford!

Since so many here don't seem to know, this is the song Lazy from Deep Purple's Machine Head and Made in Japan albums.

Well, I don't listen to that genre much but I love that he is always down to talk guitars and gear and share good stories.

Okay this organ is cool right now. It will probably go into pentatonic real quick though haha :)

Don't like his style of music but a guy I deal with gets rung by Joe when he arrives at our airport. In fact, he made a Telecaster with parts supplied by my associate. Joe is an absolute gentleman, a down to Earth nice guy.

Great jam, did they just change the lyrics on another song. I know that riff but just cant think of it atm.

That strat sounds great on the main riff.

    Lol.

You know, some of the world's most influential guitar players have a sort of divide of appreciation from guitarists at large. SRV, Van Halen, John McLaughlin, etc... Giants in their own vein.

But, when it's Joe Bonamassa his fanbase has to keep coming back over and over and over with "No, no, really, YOU don't get it, SEE how good he is!!"

Just dig'em if ya dig'em, no need to chirp about it.

Loved the intro... reminded me a bit of Chest Fever.

I guess I came to the whole Joe Bonamassa appreciation thing late in life.

I honestly never heard of the guy until just a couple of years ago, and when I did, I didn't really give him a listen.
I was put off by the culture of internet animosity that seemed to surround him.
(You were supposed to either adore him, or hate his guts, apparently. And there was no middle ground.)

I'm not much of a joiner, so I stayed away.

Little by little though, I began to watch youTube videos of him performing.
And I clicked on a variety of interviews and features.

Turns out he's a really nice guy.
With a passion for collecting and playing guitars.

And he plays the guitar with a passion that I haven't observed lately.

So, I guess you can count me as a fan.
If he came to The Von Braun, I would pay to go see him.

And I hope he and his band do this song.
    It's really good.

    :)

I'm not a big fan of Joe, and I'm not chirping about it, but just pointing out that he's a good player who for some reason gets a bad rap around here, like dentists and PRS guitars. I guess I see it as a kind of reverse snobbery which seems really dumb to me. "Look how cool and unsophisticated I am, 'cause I play cowboy chords on a Tele through a tube amp". DUH!

Thanks! I didn't realize I'd have to tell anyone what this tune was. I guess they don't know who Brad Whitford is either. DUH!

Ian Gillan is pretty good here too ( assuming that's him as it kind of looks like him). He's a superstar! I saw DP on the Machine Head tour.... an excellent concert.

Hmm... I think you need to refrain from accusing anyone of snobbery. ;)

Don’t listen to his music much but I like JB. Can’t imagine why anyone would hate him.

    Meh.

    JB's music always lacks space.

Yes!. I only listen to clips here. I've never been able to put my finger on why it puts me off. But you nailed it.

Always enjoy watching interviews or little tutorials with him though.

But his music exhausts me quickly.
