Moved from NJ shore to New Tampa (company moved us) in 2005. After I retired (2017) we moved to Wesley Chapel, by the Epperson Lagoon.

Good to see so many Florida folks! I'm Central Florida, born and raised. Currently living and playing in Orlando.
So, esquire, are you a Brother of the (Florida) Bar?

I'm in Gainesville.

And also a Heartbreaker, of sorts. ;)

Yep, member of the Bar here. One of these days I need to do a Petty Pilgrimage to Gainesville, and see the sights. Although I understand Mudcrutch Farm is long gone....

Yes, but his boyhood home is still around, and of course there will always be the Park, and a couple murals.

I've been a member of the Bar since '84. Currently working on an article to be published in the Family Law Section Commentator, unless some eminent person expresses an interest (which frankly, I'd prefer...).

I'd help you out, but I'm a little short on eminence at the moment. And rusty on family law, too (I'm doing construction defect litigation now).

Grew up mainly in Winter Haven, FL, just south of Orlando. Later moved to Orlando.
My two youngest kids were born in Orlando. We left in 2002 and hope to head back one day.
Thinking about retiring to the Tampa/Clearwater/St Pete area. We will see; that is a few years off.

No worries. Fam law is pretty much my jam, for the last decade plus. I'm even the author of a chapter in the Fla. Bar CLE treatise "Florida Dissolution of Marriage," haha.

I don't use the "Krashpad" stage name for that, though. ;)

I moved to the Ocala area from Michigan late 2013, then moved to Houston area early 2020. I have to say I'd move back in a heartbeat (love central Fla). I felt "at home". This part of Texas is a different beast. Winters (and summers) are way more forgiving in that part of Fla. Wake up any morning and can be to either coast in 50 to 90 minutes. The springs and St. Johns river system a hidden gem. Horse country, cross Florida Greenway, wildlife, hiking many times without seeing another soul. Sigh.

Family, grandchildren drove us here. When the grandkids become too cool for gramma and gramps we'll move back, if there is any more room. 😄

Does anyone here have recommendations for a good *trusted* guitar tech in the Central Florida area? Guitar Factory was a fixture in Orlando for many years, and I have relied on them, but they closed up shop at the end of the year. I have tried two other shops in the last year or two. The first was very good, if pricey. But they ultimately folded too. The second was an apprentice from the first shop who went out on his own, but he messed up some things, and I can't trust him with anything important now.

So, does anyone have someone within driving distance of Orlando they use and trust? After the last guy, I'm a little wary, especially since I have started to acquire a couple of guitars outside of the "budget" realm.
