Hey Insta! I'm in GNV too. Do you play out at all?

I play in a couple originals rock bands that play locally, albeit somewhat infrequently, and most every week in church at First Lutheran, on 5th Ave., a few blocks north of UF in what used to be called the "student ghetto" (at least back when I lived there as a UF student).

Welcome aboard!

Hi all, I'm new here but active in other forums. Just wanted to pass the word to any Tampa resident (or any Floridian willing to drive to Tampa) that we will be hosting a Gear Fest next Saturday the 23rd at a Tampa location. This is an informal gathering of gear heads who will be bringing their gear for others to demo/admire/drool over. Attendees are also welcome to bring gear intended for selling/trading with other gear heads on site. This is NOT a dealers gathering or a full blown guitar show. This is just a way for local peeps to get to know each other and demo cool gear not normally found at Guitar Center or Sam Ash.

There will be vintage and boutique gear on site, including guitars, amps and pedals.

If you are interested in attending, please PM me and I will send you the details.

Cheers!

Brian Krashpad! I bought the little 2x12 cordovox cab from you awhile back. Cheers!

Cool, small world! Hope you're using it and it's sounding great, unfortunately I was afraid I might blow it up, as my heads are a little too high wattage for it. Would love to have kept it.

Greetings fellow Sunshine Staters...checking in from the island that is Miami Beach. I use to kayak, fish and fly fish in Everglades and the Keys almost every weekend. Then about a year ago I discovered guitars. Now I pray for rain and a strong east wind so I can stay inside and play my Tele with out feeling guilty for not being out on the water ;-)

Greetings, Macabi! Nothing wrong with fishing, never apologize for that! Or playing guitars!

btw, our daughter lives in Miami Shores, so we venture down every now and then for a visit.

I lived in Northern Va my whole life but moved to North Port about 13 months ago. It is a difficult adjustment, but I'm hanging in there.

If this is the Sunshine state, why has it rained every day for 6 weeks?

This post struck me as funny. About 18 years ago I moved from Minnesota to Orlando. I hated it. It was certainly not the Florida I had imagined. One day I was pumping gas and thinking about how I was going to pull off a move back. Then I realized.... it was February, I was wearing a T-Shirt and flip flops. NO SOCKS. Not even ankle socks. So I stayed.

I'm in Lake City, not all that far from the Georgia border.

Thanks Bullfrogblues! Yeah, my fishing rods are getting jealous of my Telecaster. LOL.

I hear ya Killin5. Flip flops and shorts in February gets mighty addictive.

Nice to see this thread still going well!!! Here's a tune I wrote about the river that flows through my town, and for the video, I found a bunch of old photos of the Pithlachascotee river (known by the locals as the Cotee River)

Enjoy!

Hey, Killin, do you ever go to Hangar 7 there in Lake City?

My band is playing there with some friends' bands on Oct. 24.
