I'm a Marylander living in Georgia, but I go to Gainesville every month or two for medical appointments. While in Florida, I usually stay for a week or two in Dunnellon, not far from MadJack.

Brian, my son lives in Gainesville, has a death metal band called Hot Graves. He's also building a recording studio that will be up and running sometime this year.
I'm down in the Treasure Coast area, near Ft. Pierce.

Raising my hand from Sarasota County. Live in North Port  and work in Sarasota.
We are just about an hour south of Tampa down I-75/2-75.

Living in NC, but grew up in Florida. A recently deceased cousin left me 5+ acres near Tallahassee. Trying to talk my wife into moving.

I lived in Northern Va my whole life but moved to North Port about 13 months ago. It is a difficult adjustment, but I'm hanging in there.

If this is the Sunshine state, why has it rained every day for 6 weeks?

That's not rain, it's Florida's Infamous Liquid Sunshine!

LOL . . . yeah I hear ya, but I wish things would dry out a little. My grass grows so fast I can hardly keep up with it, especially since my yard is still squishey under the mower wheels.

I have a Panther in the woods behind my house that chases the rabbits that live under my shed, it ran 10-12 feet in front of me in a pursuit.

Not to mention the Raccoons and Opossums that visit at night  but I had those in Va.

Overall I am getting acclimated to Florida and will eventually adapt to life here. I can handle the rain, and the wildlife but the FIRE ANTS  have got to go!

. . .
