today one of my jobs was to dig into an old floor in a house and determine the amount of rot and what needs to be done
While tearing into it I noticed a thing that if you are an old time construction worker you may also recognize
I’m curious how many people will see what I see?
    What can you see?
(I’ll eventually say what I see I’m sure one or two of you will have the answer I’m looking for, someone might even learn something new)

A high probability in the tiles... The colorful stuff reminds me of oilcloth.

Is it 2x4's that actually measure 2" by 4"? I've always wanted to see one of those!

I originally thought it was tar paper, put I think it's the backing of the linoleum, it seems to be cut in squares

Looks like some wallpapered Hardboard that has been recycled/reused as packing over the floor joists to level up the floor under the tiles.

If those are 12x12 tiles the floor joists look a bit far apart. Actually looking at the other one the spacing looks kinda wonky...
