Just gave my Maglights to the Goodwill. A 4-D, 2 2-Ds and a couple 2 -AAs. Have not used any of them in years. Worthless in today's world.

I'm actually kinda bummed that the new bulb tech came after I bought my half dozen maglights with the old dim power hogging incandescents.

I have this Streamlight for work. Have to be very careful checking neuro signs with it, lest someone be blasted with 360-ish instead of 10.

I’m also a knife guy, but these days I just carry a Leatherman Wave+ and a small Swamp Rat fixed blade in a custom leather sheath.

Keep hoping one does a real beam, like my maglights.

Fetish, no. Pursuit of quality & function yes.

Thing is, in this era of LEDs and headlamps both cheap and quality I don't use the flashlights very often. I do have some bias for Princeton Tec and bicycle lights. Princeton Tec has replacement parts. The better bike lights have superb performance, quality and parts availability.

With 3 of these Bontragers (Trek) kept in the cabinet by the front door I grab one as a flashlight or spare and for riding have one head and other handlebar mounted. During the work day and projects I see they have power and durability other lights don't have.

Another plus with bike lights is most now have GoPro compatible mounts so you can hold and rig them lots of ways.

Not flashlights, but I love keychains and pen knives, particularly Victorinox, which I have about 30.

Ahh...not really, though I do find them useful. Except the ones that strobe. In a dark room, they'll make ya puke. Don't ask.

I found a big old Maglight in the road a while back, I already had a couple of them I never used, but this one is a little different it's got some kind of whizzy bulb in it that is super bright. I think it might be what the police commissioner at Gotham City uses to call in Batman!

There is some sort of upgrade for these well made flashlights. I decided not to go that way mainly because of the heft involved. Even in today's security and law enforcement, I doubt these "batons" make much sense.

The Maglite I inherited from my dad will serve as a Billy club should the need ever arise.

I’ve got a ton of knives, including throwers. One more Streamlight, attached to the rails of my Mossberg;).

The brightest light I’ve ever had is a pocket light I bought last year. As bright as a car headlight. It runs for hours off a rechargeable e-cigarette battery. Cost around $15 with four spare rechargeable batteries.

They do make a very good baton. My upgrade model was VERY inexpensive. I'm not gonna through it away! :D

Not addicted, but when I stop for a half second to look at a flashlight, my wife comes out of no where and yells No!

This reminds me, I need a new clicker end cap on one of my Fenix lights.
