Hey all, I've been a vintage nut but being relatively young and poor has put a damper on buying too much and I always seek out the player pieces that have useful or not hindering mods...

Anyways always wanted a tele since I was 12 and my buddy had squire tele while I had an epi les paul. Went through a ton of Les Paul's, quite a few strats, a 335 never a tele that I "had" to have until I saw this crazy figured ash 1957 tele at Rumbleseat music, a store I feel I could trust to be legit ... she has been stripped with a ****ty feels like thin poly refin in natural.. fret board feels like a 9.5 or 10" radius with refret.. pickups and gaurd are repos, ron ellis pickups and a black guard.. I already am scouting a white one!

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

if the price reflects all the changes you could have a great vintage player. Great feeling V neck, perhaps a one piece body..

    Flamey ash, that's Beautiful!!!

I wonder how that would have looked with a blonde finish, if the flame would have shown through.

It may be one piece, but I think it's a two piece with the seam running at an angle.

I would love to see pictures of the sides/edges by the strap buttons, to see if there are seams.

Beautiful guitar. I enjoy the old warrior guitars that have been around the block a few times, (not being willing to pony up for the pricey pristine vintage stuff). We love to see more pictures from every conceivable angle.

So funny, sometimes things get “cosmic!” I saw this post this morning and, a few hours later, while paging through a random issue of Vintage Guitar, saw this! Your new guitar has certainly been in some good hands and made some good music!

(The Vintage Guitar issue is from November 2019 with Vince Gill on the cover, fyi)

Ash already makes nice natural veneer, and if it is figured, it's even more nice, just like on your Tele @Rykus...:cool::cool:

My SuperCharger guitar is made from 2 figured Alder pieces "Aulne du Pays de l'Ardèche" (local origin) - figured Alder is even more rare than figured Ash here :

At first, I wanted this guitar made from figured Ash. The figured variety we have locally is a superb veneer, but unfortunately it weights like an anvil ! Too bad...

Wow thank you so much for that! I will have to find that !

I talked for a bit with Keith at rumble seat and he mentioned the shop class story in the add, I was mostly trying to figure out the original pieces rather than asking to much about the seller but he had mentioned he was a local session player in Nashvile there.

She is a real cannon acoustically and I haven't been putting her down much!

Will definitely post up some more pictures, 99.99% sure it's one big slab of ash not 2 piece, and even the neck in the right light has a bit of ghost flame too... so stoked I finally took the plunge!

Thanks everyone for the kind words, and yes the amp is built by Mark Kane from the gear page and is a beautiful Trainwreck Rocket clone that is amazing in it's own right!(yes I have a slight flame wood addiction)

Yeah, most of them had one-piece bodies around that time.

Any evidence to support that statement? So far it's common knowledge that Fender always decided by the commercial view, trying to get the most bodies out of a slab. This brief "statistic" from another thread shows the one piece bodies are not the majority. How would that change around 1957?

I am referring to the period 1956 - 1957 (not the BG period) and it is my own observation. On average the bodies also become lighter in that period. I have had two myself and watched lots of other examples being traded online for a pretty long time.
