I’ve played guitar for decades, but never owned a Telecaster! Well I finally fixed that problem by picking up this 2004 American Tele in vintage white. Really digging it so far.

I realized it has a few odd quirks that I’ll totally take care of. First the volume and tone knobs are reversed. OK, I can understand how maybe someone wanted more room for volume. But also the pickup selector switch is backwards, points away from the active pickup. That‘s the one that is a head scratcher LOL. Assuming it’s the stock Yosemite pickups, but somebody got in there to do some tinkering.

Anyway, it will be getting the 51 Nocasters with modern wiring. Looking forward to getting started.

Congrats! ‘95-‘04 are my favorite years for Am Std teles and Strats. Except for ‘97. Never met a ‘97 I liked. Odd year. Those pickups are not Yosemite. Those weren’t around until just a few years ago. Those will be the old school Am Std pickups and they are fabulous, IMO. If you don’t want them I might be interested.

Thanks for the heads up. New to me! LOL. Since this is my first Tele, I’m going for traditional and quality.
