    Sweet Betsy From Pike.

("Who crossed the wide mountains with her lover Ike".)

Learned it on my dad's baritone uke.

    Probably about 1968 or so.

First chord only song; Marty Robbins' El Paso. First licks/riffs all the way through; Blue Oyster Cult Burnin' For You (second guitar).

    Both this year :)

The first 'lick' was from Talk dirty to me (poison). the first song all the way through was likely Smells Like Teen Spirit or More Than Words (extreme). Yes, I bought my first guitar in the early 90's.

Julia Dream and the intro to Interstellar Overdrive ..PF...Ummagumma/Relics... late 60's after school..listening by ear to the records we figured them out , a class mate had an acoustic.... no tabs back then...
that was awesome... realising your guitar was the same as theirs...it's all on there!..

or proud mary/early creedence.. at a different mates place.. on a cheese cutter, semi acoustic/electric with no amp...

I think it was 5th grade music class.

The teacher called it "Dot to Dot", but I was proud to debate her and say it was Sunshine of your love.
